Love’s Creek
Ecological Design | Chad Manley
This project explores how human interventions shape Knoxville's urban streams, focusing on three riparian sites across different stream orders. At one site, interventions slow runoff, filter pollutants, and create habitat through native plantings and strategically placed rocks and logs. At another, the stream channel is raised and the floodplain widened to restore flow, stabilize banks, and support wetland species. Together, these strategies enhance water quality, strengthen biodiversity, and build ecological resilience.
